Energy Alliance is working in partnership with the Residential Landlords Association to help landlords nationwide upgrade their properties with FREE or partially funded energy saving property improvements. The scheme focuses on providing free cavity wall insulation, free loft insulation and part-funded replacement boilers, all of which have a major bearing on a property’s energy efficiency performance. What’s more, savings of up to £1,085 a year can be made on heating costs, which is great news no matter who’s footing the bill.
Landlords are required by law to upgrade the energy efficiency of their properties by 2018. The quickest, easiest and cheapest way to do this is with FREE insulation and A+ rated replacement boilers.
The legal obligations
From April 2018, legislative changes will make it unlawful to let residential properties with an EPC rating lower than E.
Reducing your tenants heating bills keeps them happy and makes them more likely to keep your property adequately heated, reducing the chance of mould and condensation. According to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) it is also possible to improve the value housing stock by up to 38% where recommended energy saving improvements are made.
*Savings are based on figures estimated by the Energy Saving Trust.
